Dog Agility Training
Agility is a fast-paced, fun dog sport in which the dog and handler navigate through a series of obstacles including jumps, tunnels, A-frames and weave poles. Agility training is an excellent way for you to build your bond with your dog and put the engagement skills you’ve learned/are learning in obedience and puppy class to the test.
*All puppies and dogs must be in good health and cleared by a veterinary professional to start an agility class*

Beginner Agility
We will cover foundation skills in this class that will set you and your dog up for success in the agility world. We will also introduce your dog to a number of super fun obstacles. Our goal in this beginner agility class is to have our dogs be able to safely and independently complete each obstacle: jump, tunnel, etc. when we ask them to as well as learn what our body language communicates to our dog.
This class is for dogs 4 months and older who have already completed basic obedience with one of our instructors. If you and your dog have completed obedience with another facility or on your own at home, please contact the trainer for an evaluation to be approved for class. Dogs who are under 24 months will not be doing high impact obstacles such as full height jumps or weaves but can learn all the foundation skills needed.
This class is broken up into two levels:
- The first is our Beginner Introduction class that introduces foundation skills for those who are brand new to the sport, or brand new to the sport at our facility. This is a 6-week course designed to get your feet wet and build a love and basic understanding of the sport and the foundations.
- The second is our Beginner Continuous class for all dogs who have completed the first 6 weeks to continue with more foundation skills and prepare for the intermediate class as well as sequencing. Dogs will advance through the levels at their own speed and at the trainer’s recommendation.
Intermediate Agility
You’ve likely already come to love agility and the connection it brings you and your canine friend. The intermediate agility class is for those who have completed the beginner or puppy class at both levels and have been approved by the trainer to move onto more “in-depth” instruction and sequencing with their dog. We will cover contact obstacles and weave poles in this class as well as the complexities such as handler body and footwork as a communicator to the dog. Our goal will be for each dog to gain distance and independence on each obstacle as well as confidence in their ability to play the game.
This class will introduce short sequences for you and your dog to complete and advancement to the next level will be at your dog’s pace and with trainer recommendation.
Advanced/Competition Agility
You’ve already completed puppy/beginner and intermediate agility and likely have fallen in love with the sport of Agility. Maybe you want to get more into sequencing, teach more complex behaviors to your dog that will increase your dog’s verbal independence, or maybe you want to start competing in agility. This is the class for you! We will put our foundation skills to the test in this class by primarily focusing on course work, as well as adding new, complex foundation skills that you can add to your agility tool box. We will break down the courses as we need to and apply our foundation skills to the actual course. We will also learn what to expect when first entering an agility trial as well as how to troubleshoot the most common challenges that arrive in the ring. Basic Obedience, Beginner Agility, and Intermediate Agility are required before taking this class.
Agility Skills Class
This class is for students already working at the Intermediate level AND currently enrolled in a class. Instead of coursework, like our typical classes, we work on individual skills like weave poles, building speed, obstacle discrimination, treadles, backsides, distance and more complex skills that you can add in to advance your coursework performance.
Price: $150 for 6 weeks

AGILITY WEAVE WORKSHOP:
Thursday, December 10th: 5:30-7:30pm
In Agility, the weave poles are often referred to as the hardest obstacle. They are the only element of agility that is not an instinctual movement for dogs. Not only do our dogs need to commit this back and forth movement to muscle memory, but we also need to be able to navigate a number of complex entries and exits to these poles. This 2 hour seminar will focus on introducing the poles and building independence, drive and control as we advance through them. All you will need for this class is your dog and many different values of treats, especially ones that will be easy to throw on the ground without breaking up, while remaining visible to our dogs against a dark-colored floor. The cost for this workshop is $45.
Agility training is an active workout for you and your dog. You will have lots of fun while learning new ways to communicate and motivate each other.

Yazmin Lopez
My name is Yazmin,
I was born and raised in Monterrey, Mexico.
Since I was a child I have always loved dogs and becoming a dog trainer now is like a dream come true.
My duty as a trainer is to not only build a strong bond between owners and their pets, but to educate them on the method of positive reinforcement training and behavior modification. This is my way of contributing a little to society by making dogs great furry family members.
In addition to my contribution to society, I volunteered for two years in Nuevo León, Mexico for an animal shelter. My experience also extends to agility training.
My husband and I founded a pet care and BARF food company back home in Mexico. We live, breath, and sleep dogs and dedicated our lives to making the world a better place by training these extraordinary animals.
