Your puppy deserves a party. And you deserve a venue that handles the dog side of things properly. K9 University Chicago offers supervised indoor puppy party space for birthdays, meetups, socialization events, and group play gatherings. The facility is built for dogs, staffed by people who work with them every day, and designed for parties of any size.
What Is a K9U Puppy Party?
K9U provides a reserved indoor space for your dog’s party. You choose the date, time, and theme. We provide the venue, supervision, and an environment where every dog is safe and managed by people who know what they are doing. Rooms are temperature-controlled and available in sizes to match your group.
Puppy parties at K9U are not just events. They are socialization opportunities. Dogs who play together in a supervised environment with peers they know are building exactly the kind of positive social associations that reduce reactivity and anxiety as adults.

How to Plan Your K9U Puppy Party
Step 1: Every Guest Dog Must Be Registered
Every dog attending a puppy party must be registered with K9 University and have current vaccination records on file before the event.
Party hosts should send the K9U registration link to every guest on the invite list well ahead of the party date. Each dog owner creates an account, registers their dog, and uploads current vaccination records. Registration can also be completed through the K9 University app.
Step 2: Book the Date First
Availability is limited, especially on Saturdays. Call 773-533-5959 or email K9u@k9uchicago.com to check available dates before you plan anything else. Saturday mornings after Puppy Play are a popular time for groups that have already been socializing together.
Step 3: Invite Only Dogs Your Puppy Knows
Keep the guest list to dogs your puppy has met and played well with. Introducing unfamiliar dogs at a party, especially in a group, can create unnecessary stress. Stick to known friends from Puppy Play, Tweenie Time, or your dog’s regular social circle.
Step 4: Bring the Fun
K9U provides the space. You bring the theme. Some ideas that work well at K9U:
- Dog-safe birthday cakes from Chicago dog bakeries
- Party bags with a bone or toy for each guest dog
- A simple agility circuit we can help you set up in the space
- Dog-safe treats for all guests, bring enough for the handler humans too
Step 5: Enjoy It
You are in a professionally managed dog facility with handlers who do this every day. Relax, take photos, and let the dogs do what they do best.
Vaccination Requirements
All dogs attending a K9U Puppy Party must have current vaccinations on file. Required vaccines for any K9U event: Distemper, Parvo, Rabies, Bordetella, and Lepto. Upload records to your K9U online profile or email them to K9u@k9uchicago.com before the event.
Puppy Party Frequently Asked Questions
What If One Of My Guests Hasn’t Registered Their Dog Yet?
They will need to complete registration and have their vaccination records confirmed by the K9U office before the event. The best approach is to send the registration link to all guests as soon as invitations go out. Dogs that are not registered and confirmed by the party day cannot participate.
Can I Set Up Before The Party Starts?
Contact K9U when booking to discuss setup logistics. The two-hour party window runs from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, so coordinating any early arrival for decorations or food setup should be arranged in advance.
Is The Prepayment Refundable If I Need To Cancel?
No. The prepayment secures the date exclusively for the party and holds it off the calendar for other bookings. It is nonrefundable regardless of the reason for cancellation.
What Happens If The Weather Is Bad On Party Day?
K9U’s indoor facility is climate-controlled year-round, so parties run comfortably in every season regardless of the weather. The outdoor areas are available, weather permitting, but the indoor space alone provides more than enough room for a full party.
Can The Dogs Use The Agility Course During The Party?
Yes. K9U has a dedicated indoor agility course with jumps, tunnels, and obstacles. It is a great group activity that keeps dogs entertained and burns energy.
How Many Dogs Can Attend?
The base booking covers up to 10 dogs. Additional dogs beyond 10 can be added for a per-dog fee. See current pricing on the K9U pricing page.
