Dog Boarding and Training in River North

Dog Boarding and Training in River North

River North is a bustling part of Downtown Chicago, famous for its cosmopolitan blend of business and entertainment amenities and upmarket city residences. Fine dining, numerous galleries and well-known architectural and cultural landmarks such as Trump Towers make this an exciting place to live and work.

Many people who live and work in the city enjoy the company of a dog. The problem is that the hours spent away from your dog and leaving them alone in an unstimulating environment such as a small apartment is detrimental to them. It may cause behavioral problems that make it difficult for you to enjoy your time with your pet when you’re at home. In addition, many pet owners simply don’t have the time or expertise to properly train their dogs. Taking an untrained dog on the busy city streets is not safe – for you or your pet. Our dog training and boarding in River North is the ideal solution for this. We ensure that your dog learns to be well behaved and obedient, giving you the control and ability to keep them safe.

Send your dog to K9 boot camp for the best results

Our dog boot camp combines dog training and boarding. Often, your presence as an owner can hamper training and may distract them. When you are taken out of the picture, however, your dog is likely to be more teachable and obedient, which in the long run strengthens the bond between you.

Our puppy boot camp takes place at our exceptional grounds, where dogs enjoy the benefits of excellent training as well as the perks of comfortable boarding facilities.

What do dogs learn at K9 boot camp?

Our boot camp program covers everything from basic training to good manners. We welcome both puppies as well as older dogs with behavioral problems.

Training can be provided to increase your dog’s focus and obedience, resulting in happier and well-adjusted pets. Basic obedience training includes skills such as:

  • Coming when called,
  • Walking on a leash, and
  • Following orders such as sit and stay, etc.

The K9 University boot camp program also includes further training in:

  • Dog agility (a structured physical activity where you and your dog work as a team),
  • K9 nose work (activities that work with your dog’s keen sense of smell), and
  • Teaching your dog how to behave correctly in different situations such as riding in a car and socializing with other dogs.

We offer a variety of services to dog owners

In addition to dog training, we also offer other related services such as:

  • Doggy Daycare:
A safe and stimulating environment to ensure your dog is not lonely while you are at work.
  • Pickup and drop off:
Transportation to and from doggy daycare for a nominal fee – it’s the school bus for your dog that takes the hassle out of your life.
  • Dog grooming:
Dogs that are clean are generally healthier and happier. We offer grooming services including brushing and bathing, hair removal, stripping and nail trimming.

Why Our Clients Love Us

K9 University is great. We’ve been going there for 7 and a half years. We’ve done training, we’ve done agility, we’ve done boarding and we’ve done daycare. The only thing we haven’t done is a drop off and pick up. My dog is kind of a nut and they deal with her well. Debbie W.
I was referred by a previous customer. I had never used a daycare before and my experience has been wonderful since day ONE! The staff is friendly, welcoming and attentive to my dog (and me…LOL)…She loves going there.Tracee A.
My dog has experienced everything at K9U: daycare, classes and boarding. When he is either picked up by the K9U van or dropped off his tail is wagging like crazy. When I pick him up he is happy to see me, goes outside to relieve himself and then pulls to go back in.Jane F.
