Only the best training methods at our dog obedience school in Chicago
Are you looking for dog obedience school in Chicago? In this day and age our pets are like our children, so we want the absolute best for them. Just as you would research your local schools before enrolling your kids, it’s important to find out what training methods your obedience school will be using when you get your dogs trained. Read on to find out how we do things.
We start with the most important basics
Setting a good foundation right from the start is extremely important. With dog training, we start with the absolute basics and then build from there. At the first level, we teach sit, down, stand, stay, come, watch, touch and leave it. This training is for both the dog and his handler, so both of you will be learning. Your dog will learn the proper manners for leash walking, managing distractions, as well as learning to control themselves with things like barking and jumping up on people. This course is for dogs older than five months.
Basic skills that will be taught:
- Watch
- Sit
- Come
- Down
- Stay
- Stand
- Touch
Learning manners will include proper leash behavior, barking, sit to greet, and jumping up. For managing distractions, your dog will learn “leave it”, settle and “sit-down-stay” with increased levels of distraction.
Our other areas of expertise include puppy obedience training, intermediate dog training as well as advanced dog training classes in Chicago.
